STC Health Centre

Overview

The STC Health Centre offers accessible and culturally based health programs, including addictions, nursing, social work, mental health services, elder supports and peer supports.

The STC Health Centre also provides evidence-based harm reduction programming by offering a safe injection and inhalation supplies exchange program 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Programs and Services

  1. Urban Wellness Workers: Provide access to detox and treatment services, the outpatient treatment program, crisis and ongoing counselling, and cultural support.
  2. Client Navigator: Client-centered case management, which provides access to services such as navigation through the health system, financial assistance, legal aid, adequate housing, job placement, or education.
  3. Urban Wellness Workers: Provide access to detox and treatment services, the outpatient treatment program, crisis and ongoing counselling, and cultural support.
  4. Registered Nurse: Conducts nursing assessments, educates, counsels, tests, and provides treatment and referrals to clients and families regarding sexually transmitted and blood-borne infection prevention, treatment, and ongoing care.
  5. Urban Wellness Workers: Provide access to detox and treatment services, the outpatient treatment program, crisis and ongoing counselling, and cultural support.
  6. IRS Support Workers: Provide emotional support for individuals, families, and groups. Provide referrals to community resources such as elders, healers, and addiction supports. Provide outreach education and awareness of the history and impacts of the residential schools and cultural support.
  7. Urban Wellness Workers: Provide access to detox and treatment services, the outpatient treatment program, crisis and ongoing counselling, and cultural support.
  8. Peer Mentor: Peers provide information, support, and assistance in navigating services. The Peer Mentor acts in a supportive role to assist in linking and engaging individuals into care, re-engaging them into care, and helping them to maintain care.
  9. Urban Wellness Workers: Provide access to detox and treatment services, the outpatient treatment program, crisis and ongoing counselling, and cultural support.
  10. Harm Reduction Supply Exchange Program:
  • Clean injection and inhalation equipment
  • Drop off for used injection and inhalation equipment
  • Naloxone Kit Distribution
  • Safe sex supplies
  • Fentanyl and Benzodiazepine drug test kits
  • Harm Reduction, infectious disease, safe sex education and resources
  • Needle pick up
  • Outreach services
  • Assistance to connect to internal and external support services

  • Open to anyone 16 years of age and over.
  • Services are available through walk-ins or appointments.

Note: The Harm Reduction Supply Exchange Program is provided through the back door of the health centre. Those with mobility issues or those with children can access the front door.
