Accreditation Canada is an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets standards for quality and safety in health care organizations in Canada and across the world.
STC Health & Family Services Inc. and Member First Nations participate in Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum accreditation program.
Participation in the program includes ongoing, comprehensive self-assessment to identify what is being done well and what needs improvement. This program helps the entire organization work together to focus on improving safety, quality and efficiency.
The following locations are actively involved in the accreditation program: Kinistin Saulteaux Wellness Centre, C.M. Ledoux Health Centre, Muskeg Lake Health Centre, Muskoday Community Health Centre, One Arrow Health Centre, STC Health Centre, STC Health & Family Services Inc. (Packham location) and Yellow Quill Health Centre.
STC Achieves Accreditation
In 2018, after Accreditation Canada’s on-site survey, STC Health & Family Services Inc. and Member First Nations community health centres were awarded the Accredited with Exemplary Standing award by Accreditation Canada. This Accreditation means STC attained the highest level of performance, and it demonstrates excellence in meeting the requirements of the accreditation program.
During the on-site survey, STC Health & Family Services Inc. and Member First Nation community health centres underwent a rigorous assessment by Accreditation Canada peer surveyors. It was a team effort that successfully demonstrated 98.6 per cent compliance to 589 applicable standards. This score is a testament to the commitment and excellent efforts of STC’s governance, leadership, management, and clinical teams to providing safe, high-quality health programs and services.
The Accredited with Exemplary Standing status will be valid until November 2022, at which time another on-site survey will be conducted.
