Inspection Services

Upon request, we provide new construction and renovation inspection services to the STC member First Nations. The STC Building Official providing inspections is certified through the Province of Saskatchewan and inspects the most current version of the National Building Code of Canada.

After completing inspections, the reports are provided directly to the Member First Nation Housing Departments to review and follow-up.

Below is a list of the Mandatory Inspection Stages for typical new and renovation projects. Special projects may require additional stages based on complexity.

Housing Circuit Rider Trainer (HCRT)

The role of the HCRT is to help build capacity within each First Nation Housing Department through hands-on training and workshops. As an experienced housing professional with a training background, the HCRT can work with each Housing Department to determine training needs and possible funding opportunities. Possible Opportunities include:

  • Housing Policy Development,
  • Project Management Assistance (Liaise with Funding Agencies),
  • Application Assistance,
  • Needs Assessment/ Mentorship,
  • Tenant Workshops,
  • Train the Trainer mentoring of Housing Staff to be able to facilitate their own training,
  • Custom Training/ Workshops, and
  • One on One training,
    • Computer basics,
    • Information Management,
    • Maintenance Planning.
