The Position
Reporting to the Health Centre Manager, the Addiction Counselor will support prevention, intervention and recovery services to support mental wellness and quality of life, in a culturally responsive and professional way. This position requires the application of culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care. The Addiction Counselor will be part of an integrated, case management approach and will work in collaboration with the wellness team and medical staff within the STC Health Centre. This position also requires extensive collaboration with other community-based organizations and health systems. The case load will be varied, complex, demanding and often crisis oriented. The Urban Wellness Worker will provide direct intervention and/or referrals to appropriate service providers/programs for clients.
