The totals are in following the 2022 Drive for Kids Campaign and according to Synergy 8 which hosted event, $3.3 million dollars was raised during this year’s campaign.
The golf, dinner and auction was a sold-out event that benefited STC programs. Proceeds from the event will help STC purchase two new medical vans which will soon be on Saskatoon streets reaching out to inner city youth who are struggling with mental health or addiction issues.
In 2021 the same event raised enough money to purchase a mobile health bus for STC. Since hitting the road the bus and staff have helped 693 mental health patients and 252 dental patients.
This event is part of a 5-year pilot program that will see mental health and outreach workers in core neighbourhood schools during the day and working with emergency services in the evening. These same workers will also be involved with the STC Wellness Centre.
The federal and provincial governments are covering the operating costs.
