Position Summary
Seeking to fill 2 (Two) seats
It is with pride and honor that the Muskoday First Nation provides youth and families of all nations the opportunity to partake and learn First Nations Culture such as: The Drum, Grass Dance, Jingle Dress Dance, Fancy Shawl Dance, Men’s Traditional Dance, Men’s Grass Dance, and much more.
The Committee Members will, but not limited to:
- help organize and promote a positive and safe atmosphere celebrating our Culture to all members and visitors, by following MFN Pow Wow Practices and Procedures:
- Establish an agenda of the Pow Wow;
- Organize the EMCEE, Area Director, Stickman, Community Give Away, Drummers, Dancers, Grand Entry, Campers, etc.;
- Organize to fill Food Booth’s, Crafts and Art tables, etc.;
- Enforce a positive atmosphere with a zero tolerance to drug or alcohol, gang activity/ weapons/attire promotion will not be allowed;
- Organize Security to remove any violators from the Pow Wow grounds by security and/or onsite law enforcement
- Promotion of the event.
We are seeking the following experience and skills, but also encourage those willing to learn:
- Working closely with Elders;
- Familiar with Pow Wow Ethics, Practices and Processes would be an asset;
- Practices a Healthily lifestyle
- Strong Organizational Skills;
- Effective Team player skills and ability;
- Ability to work in crowds;
- Ability to work under Pressure;
- Fundraising skills;
- Experience with handling money and documentation.
