Child & Family Navigator – Full-Time Permanent

The Child and Family Navigator is a new position in the Muskoday First Nation (MFN), in response to the emerging needs stemming from child and family services in the MFN community. The Navigator will be responsible in ensuring that the rights of First Nation children and families are upheld, strengthened, and honored in the provincial, territorial, and federal jurisdictions. Working closely with children, youth, and families, the incumbent will foster and promote healing and balance in child and family service actions. First Nations cultural and historical knowledge will play a key role in the success of this position. Strong knowledge with inter-department and inter-jurisdictional processes is a major component. The ability to provide confidentiality in sensitive matters is crucial. Connecting children, youth, and families to the lands, languages, customs, traditions, and ceremonies in the community are the tools that the Navigator will use to achieve objectives of this Permanent position.
